“People talk about the weather and storms and tornados… I think they’re coming to terms that there’s something bigger and larger than them. Every once in a while we all get reminded that the Earth and nature still moves to it’s own rhythm, no matter what we think we can do about it.
There’s also something else that’s larger than any of us: it’s called ‘history’. This week we got a teaser as to what would happen if something out of our control (a tornado) threatened our sense of place and time – and by extension – our history.
I think in a place like this, we should be doing more to respect the past, and especially respect the environment.” Overheard at The Roasterie.
